Ballettikka Internettikka is a world-famous series of tactical art projects which began in 2001 with the exploration of internet ballet. It explores wireless internet ballet performances combined with guerrilla tactics and mobile live internet broadcasting strategies. After invading The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (2002), La Scala in Milan (2004), The National Theatre in Belgrade (2005), Volksbühne in Berlin (2006), City Hall and Lippo Centre in Hong Kong (2007) and other institutions and their concepts, Stromajer and Zorman will perform a new internet ballet – Ballettikka Internettikka Intermenttikka – as a part of the Digital Playground 2008, secrectly broadcasting live from the target construction site in Seoul, performing a robotic mortal ballet right after the sunrise. The artists are going to grout the sad and lonely commercial Silverlit R/C toy-robot with cement and inter it into reinforced ferroconcrete foundations of the selected rising building, to stay there for ever.

The interment robot is going to be equipped with powerful QSTARZ BT-Q818 eXtreme GPS transmitter which is going to broadcast the signal until the robot and the transmitter will run out of batteries. The signal is going to be edited live by the computer sotware and is going to be available for public mourning and monitoring at the address

From 22 July to 24 August the Ballettikka Internettikka Intermenttikka project (including the selected history of Ballettikka Internettikka since 2001) will be exhibited in TMCA (Total Museum of Contemporary Art) in Seoul, as a part of the Digital Playground 2008 - “Hack the City” exhibition curated by Nathalie Boseul Shin.

Recently, the outlook of Seoul is rapidly changing. It means we are surrounded by ‘under construction’ sign boards. Seoul is under-construction. One day we have the artificial river Cheonggae-cheon at the down town, huge buildings, parks. What is changing is not only the outlook, but our daily life also. Last year Seoul city government announced a big plan called ‘Seoul City Gallery Project‘ which is for making Seoul the art city. Many art works are installed on the streets, overpasses, parks etc. However, it is time to ‘Hack the city!’

This Digital Playground 2008 “Hack the City!” project consists of two parts. First part is related to actual data which artists get from Seoul City, such as traffic flow, sound capture and transfer, and other official statistic data. For this purpose TMCA collaborates with media lab in universities. EWHA Womans University and Chung-Ang University joined the Digital Playground 2008. Through regular meetings and discussions, they are developing new projects for “Hack the City.” The second part is closed to media activism and performance. Like Balettikka Internettikka from Slovenia and Graffitti Research Lab from USA, they go into the society in order to re-think the social systems by interventions and physical hacking.

radioCona LIVE 88.8 FM

radioCona is an intermedia project by Irena Pivka and Brane Zorman, which employs the space of a public radio frequency. The aim of the project is to constitute a platform - a legal project radio frequency for contemporary art - and establish communication in public space for authors and users of contemporary art. radioCona is a project radio, which goes on the air every now and then, for only a limited period of time, and is intended to processing, exhibiting, broadcasting and commenting contemporary art. radioCona acts in an intermedia context, employing the medium of radio for interventions into public space.

radioCona is produced by CONA Projects, 2008.

Intima Virtual Base is participating with [conaindex] sound project (11 min 36 sec). A Text-to-Speech TTS software is reading the HTML source code of the index.html web page of the www.cona.si website, as it was written on 23 May 2008, on the 50. anniversary of the first USA satellite (Explorer 1) stopping transmission of data (1958).

1. Please gather the tights up to the toe.

2. Position the top of the tights at the toe. Than you slip on the tights while stretching it evenly up to your knee. The same applies for the other leg.

3. Gently pull the tights up the crotch. After that, please position the perfect fit for the gusset.

4. Roll the panty up to your waist and arrange it corresponding to your wear comfort.

Cleotronica 08 is the inaugural version of Cleotronica a festival for media, art, and socio-culture organized by Alexandria Contemporary Arts Forum (ACAF) an alternative initiative for art and culture based in Egypt’s second largest city. Cleotronica 08 is planned as a monthly series of public art projects, workshops, lectures, performances, and exhibitions that commence in January 2008 gradually building up to an international symposium in May. The festival presents a diverse set of projects, mediums, and issues, ranging from net art to tactical media and from public intervention to design. Apart from being an international festival, Cleotronica is critically involved with and conditioned to its locality, striving to make a distinct contribution to it by extensively interacting with university students and recent art graduates in its projects. While showcasing a broad range of media related art, the festival is particularly reflective of practices that stimulate media, technology, art, and public socio-cultural activity to come together.
